NABOR® HELPS PROGRAM
The NABOR® HELPS program was formed by the NABOR® Board of Directors in direct response to the needs of our community at the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The board offered it resources - volunteers, services, strategic partnerships and funds - to help sustain and support those in Collier County who were impacted by the coronavirus.
Meals for First Responders and Healthcare Professionals Program (April 2020)
In an effort to support and recognize the work of Collier County’s first responders and front-line healthcare workers during the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis, the Naples Area Board of REALTORS® provided a fund of over $12,000, donated by the board and contributing members, toward take-out meal credits for the first responders and front-line healthcare workers to enjoy at one of five local restaurants.
Farm to Neighbor Program (April 2020)
NABOR® facilitated delivery of 800 crates of fresh corn to Collier County organizations that supply meals to residents in need, in a combined effort with U.S. Sugar and Duda Fresh Farm Foods. Recipient organizations include Meals of Hope, the Bennison Center in Immokalee, the Everglades City Food Bank and St. Mathew’s House in Naples and Immokalee. The program also aided the Florida farms facing supply chain disruptions.
School Supplies Program (May 2020)
The Naples Area Board of REALTORS® donated $500 worth of school supplies to the Benison Center in Immokalee. An additional $200 in school supplies were donated by Office Max and delivered as part of this program. The supplies were distributed through the Immokalee Foundation.
Hand Sanitizer Program (May 2020)
NABOR® donated gallons of hand sanitizer to the Coalition of Immokalee Workers.
Hurricane Relief Program (June 2020)
NABOR® paid the $4,000 cost of shipping 24 pallets of bicycles and office equipment donated by the Bennison Center in Immokalee to several schools in Eleuthera, Bahamas.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
REALTORS® value community and service. NABOR® members volunteer countless hours of service each year to worthwhile projects that help our community.
Waterways Clean-Up
NABOR® joined Florida REALTORS® and took part in their waterways clean up week, hosting three cleanups. Members came together to clean up the Vanderbilt Dr. area, the corner of Pine Ridge Rd. and Airport-Pulling Rd., and Rookery Bay.
Family Fun Day
The annual, free event at NABOR® offers family-oriented activities, entertainment, games, prizes and refreshments to local students and their families.
Toys for Tots
NABOR® provides donation boxes for the collection of toys that are distributed by the East Naples Firefighters or the Salvation Army to Collier County families. Committee members set up the distribution center, bundle family gifts and give them to the families at the distribution center.
Food Drive
NABOR® provides donation boxes for the collection of food for the USPS Food Collection Drive. Committee members sort food and box items for the Collier Harvest Foundation to distribute to Collier County families.
School Supply Drive
NABOR® provides donation boxes for the collection of school supplies distributed by the Collier County School District, Guadalupe Center, Youth Haven, Bayshore Education Center and Shelter for Abused Women & Children.
Roll & Bowl
An annual bowling tournament for members is held which raises funds donated to the Board’s charity of choice.
Relay for Life
Members participate in an annual walk held to support and raise money for the American Cancer Society.
Disco Dance
A social event was held for members and net proceeds were donated to the Foundation for Developmentally Disabled. Additionally, recipients participated in the dance.
Toga Party
A social event was held for members to enjoy and net proceeds were donated to the Shelter for Abused Women & Children
Sock Hop
A social event was held for members to enjoy and net proceeds were donated to the Laces of Love foundation.
Shoe Drive
NABOR® provided donation boxes for the collection of shoes and socks which were distributed to the Laces of Love Foundation.
NAMI Walk
NABOR® members participated in an annual walk to raise awareness of mental illness and raise funds to support the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
Christmas Bell Ringing
Members volunteered to ring bells at locations where they collected money which was donated to Collier County citizens by the Salvation Army.
Christmas Cheer with senior citizens
NABOR® members visited the Naples Manor, sang holiday songs and assisted NABOR®’s Santa Claus with distribution of Christmas presents to the residents.
Blood Drives
NABOR® was the site for the Community Blood Center bloodmobile, and members participated by donating blood.
Keep Collier Beautiful
Members participate in the annual beach cleanup at the Naples Pier.
Collier County Sheriff’s Department
Members earned the Child ID Program certification to assist the Collier County Sherriff’s Department with Child ID events and fingerprinting of children for parents.
Meals of Hope
Members assisted with packaging food pack for local families in need.
Wild Fires in Collier County
A social event was held to raise funds to support six families that had homes destroyed by wild fires.
Hurricane Irma
NABOR® collected donations and supplies that were distributed to hurricane victims and donated to St. Matthew’s House.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Committee members walked in the parade to raise awareness of NABOR®’s designated charity: Laces of Love in 2018 and Sunshine Kids in 2019.
