Roberts Rules of Order
Robert’s Rules of Order is America’s foremost guide to parliamentary procedure. NABOR® committees follow the guide’s set of rules and procedures to ensure that meetings are orderly and their goals are accomplished fairly.
Board of Directors
They are a group of 11 members nominated by the Nominating Committee and presented to the general membership at the annual business meeting for election. The Board of Directors are responsible for establishing policies and ensuring the strategic directions and financial affairs of NABOR® and its subsidiary M.L.S. of Naples, Inc. are administered effectively. They are responsible to carry out the business objectives of NABOR® by establishing and coordinating, at a high level, the overall work of committees, teams and work groups comprised of volunteers, leadership and staff to accomplish the objectives on behalf of the membership
COMMITTEES AND TASK FORCES
Budget and Finance Committee
They are responsible for insuring that the financial affairs of NABOR® and
M.L.S. of Naples, Inc. are administered effectively and with fiscal integrity,
that financial information flows efficiently to those who need it, and that the
financial directives of the Board of Directors are implemented. They prepare the
annual budget for approval by the Board of Directors, review financial
statements, receive requests for unbudgeted funds, prepare the capital
expenditure program and supervise the annual audits. They recommend investment
policies and monitor insurance policies and retirement programs. They implement
programs and services approved by the Board of Directors either through the
budgeting process or by recommendation from the Committee.

Commercial Committee
This group addresses issues relating to the commercial real estate industry.
They are responsible for providing Commercial Brokers and Associates with
programs, networking, and events focused on the commercial real estate business
with the goal of increasing their involvement in NABOR®. They provide
education to residential REALTOR members about commercial real estate and offer
assistance with commercial real estate transactions. They collaborate with
interested REALTORS through communication, outreach and the promotion of
professionalism.

Community Involvement Committee
They are integral part of NABOR® and provide the opportunity for members to
give back to the community. They are responsible for planning and facilitating
in a variety of activities to benefit the Naples community. They liaison with
the appropriate committees of mutual interest, prioritize the scope of community
activity projects and make decisions about where to direct charitable resources.
Their work raises the community’s consciousness and awareness about NABOR® as
a “good neighbor”.

Economic Summit Committee
The Economic Summit Task Force will provide, with the help of respected
economists, industry professionals and community leaders, useful analysis of the
economic trends and influences affecting the growth of the Naples area real
estate.

Events for Networking Committee
They are responsible for presenting the Business Meeting programs of NABOR® to
members, including the annual Business Meeting and Election of Officers and
Directors. They plan and present the annual Committee Showcase, NABOR® Nights,
member appreciation events and programs of a social nature designed for members’
networking and to further their involvement in NABOR®.

Expo Committee
They are responsible for planning, developing, implementing this highly
successful annual event, which is an industry-wide trade show featuring
exhibitions of products and services that REALTORS® can use in their business.
They provide guidance and direction in branding development and exhibitor
relations.

Global Business Committee
Their responsibility is to maximize the ability of members to take advantage of the growing earnings potential associated with the increasing globalization of the real estate business. They provide resources and opportunities that will empower members to understand inbound, outbound and local global real estate transactions. They present members with global networking events and educational programs to maximize their awareness of global real estate business. and increase their profitability from International real estate transactions in the Naples area.
The NABOR® Global Network is a group formed by the Global Business Committee
which consists of members interested in developing their "global business".

Governmental Issues Committee
They represent our members’ business interests primarily before local
governmental bodies and agencies. They work with the Florida Realtors®, and,
where appropriate, the National Association of REALTORS®, to have NABOR®’s
members’ interests incorporated into Florida Realtors®, and, where
appropriate, the National Association of REALTORS®, legislative agenda. Their
role is to monitor legislative and regulatory proposals and actions as they
relate to the real estate industry and real estate market and inform the
membership of legislation and regulations affecting their ability to do
business. They are responsible for tracking real estate legislation and
regulations, participating in public meetings and communicating with local
officials.

Grievance Committee
The role of the Grievance Committee (“Committee”) is defined in the Code of
Ethics and Arbitration Manual of the National Association of REALTORS®. In
essence, the role is to determine whether complaints brought against members
constitute a possible violation of the Code of Ethics or are subject to
arbitration; and, if determined to be neither, the Committee dismisses them;
however, if determined to constitute a possible violation of the Code of Ethics
or a matter to be arbitrated, the Committee forwards them to the Professional
Standards Committee for a hearing. Members of this Committee are subject to
confirmation by the Board of Directors.

Leadership Development Committee
This group plans, implements, and administers NABOR®’s Leadership Development
Program, the purpose of which is to select, train and develop future visionary
leaders for our association and our community and to equip them with the skills,
knowledge, and confidence to lead NABOR®. NABOR®’s continued success lies in
our efforts to develop future leaders. The Leadership Development Program is an
opportunity for members to enhance their professional skills as well as personal
growth. Their goal is to develop NABOR®’s future leaders.

Legal Resources Committee
They study legal issues affecting local real estate transactions and brokerage
practice; provide input and recommendations relative to those legal issues to
the appropriate committees and Board of Directors; drafts for the review and
approval by the Board of Directors and legal counsel such documents, forms and
contracts as may facilitate local real estate transactions and brokerage
practice; and offers educational programs to NABOR® members on NABOR®’s
forms, and other forms as deemed appropriate, and on the legal aspects of real
estate transactions and brokerage practice.

Magazine Committee
Naples REALTOR®, the official magazine of the Naples Area Board of REALTORS®
Association, is published to educate and inform the Naples Area Board of
REALTORS® members of association news and events, local real estate trends and
data, business and legal issues, industry initiatives and member achievements.
The goal is to provide members with information that may contribute to the
success of their businesses as well as the development of their professional
careers.

Media Relations Committee
They serve to develop and oversee the implementation of a long-term media
strategy that will promote NABOR® as the voice of the Naples area real estate
market. They are responsible for analyzing the MLS statistics and providing real
estate market reports and conferences based on their findings to members and the
public.

Membership Committee
Their mission is to be responsible for the retention and recruitment of members,
and the promotion of the benefits of REALTOR® membership. They develop and
implement programs and services to familiarize members with NABOR® and the
benefits they receive by virtue of their membership.

MLS Committee
They work to assure that REALTORS® remain the primary provider of information
about real estate. Their role is to recommend policy and procedures to the Board
of Directors for the effective operation of the Multiple Listing Service,
including coordinating revision of the MLS Rules to be in compliance with the
MLS policy of the National Association of REALTORS®. They evaluate the
Southwest Florida MLS system and recommend changes for maximum effectiveness.
They facilitate the use of MLS related services that members can use and their
recommendation to the Board of Directors.

MLS - NABOR.com & NaplesArea.com Task Force
The team is working with a website developer to implement a new website design
for NaplesArea.com. They will provide oversight and set strategic direction to
achieve a new public facing website design that emphasizes ease of navigation,
meets the growing needs of consumers searching for homes in the Naples area and
encourages participation.

NABOR® History Committee
The mission of the NABOR® History Committee is to preserve NABOR® history
with a record of people and events that shaped NABOR® so members can draw
strength and purpose from the association’s rich history and be inspired to

Professional Development Committee
They seek to improve REALTOR® professionalism and productivity by offering
educational programming suitable for all segments of the NABOR® membership.
They are responsible for providing professional development opportunities for
the membership that will enable the member to achieve his/her professional
development business goals. They oversee the delivery of education courses to
fulfill the practical educational needs of the membership.

Professional Standards Committee
Their mission is to strive to promote knowledge of and compliance with the
N.A.R. Code of Ethics in order to elevate the industry to its highest
professional, ethical ideal. Their role is defined in the Code of Ethics and
Arbitration Manual of the National Association of REALTORS®. In essence, the
role is to enforce the Code of Ethics and to educate the membership concerning
the Code, the policies and procedures governing enforcement, and the importance
to them as professionals of subscribing and adhering to the high ethical
standards in the REALTOR® Code of Ethics. Members of this Committee are
subject to confirmation by the Board of Directors.

Professional Standards - Mediation Task Force
This unique group is comprised of REALTORS® who are specifically trained by
the National Association of REALTORS® to mediate disputes between parties with
the goal of promoting reconciliation, settlement, or compromise, so the dispute
is not subject to an ethics hearing or arbitration before the Professional
Standards Committee.

REALTORS® Political Action (RPAC) Committee
This committee centers around fundraising for the promotion of political
awareness, locally, for opposing or supporting issues affecting the members’
business, and on the state and national levels to support or oppose candidates
whose positions affect the members’ ability to conduct business. They provide
networking, education and tools to increase member participation.

Young Professionals Network (YPN) Committee
This group consists of young, career-minded real estate professionals who offer
a platform to exchange knowledge, establish business relationships and discuss
the latest innovative trends and ideas. They encourage, promote, and empower
NABOR® members who are under 40 years old to thrive in Naples real estate by
offering them educational programs, networking events and volunteer
opportunities to further their career.
